Tech Tips: GMail Labs Stuff
Today’s Tech Tips should actually be yesterday’s tech tips – but I decided to delete the original article and hand in this piece instead. You see, I’ve come to the conclusion that there isn’t much point in me explaining stuff that is much better explained elsewhere. Instead, I’ll just point you to where you need to go.
So, if you haven’t already read through it, go take a look at Lifehacker’s recent (a week old) article :
Gmail Labs: Ten Gmail Labs Features You Should Enable
GMail Labs
You will recall that I have already written about the wonders of GMail, in one of the first articles of this series, Tech Tips: Google Goodies #1 – GMail.
I’m not sure if I mentioned it then but the great thing about GMail is that it’s in a constant state of beta. What that means is that they can ‘test’ these little widget like ‘Labs’ applications which add functionality to your ordinary GMail. But if you dont know about them and if you dont enable them – you will miss out.
I mentioned Tasks in my previous Tech Tips – but there are many other helpful widgets you could be using right now. Multiple Inboxes, Labels and Attachment Reminders (no more ‘oops, I forgot to send the attachment’ emails!). Other things, too.
Go read about and enable them.
So, ahem, in conclusion (wow this article is much shorter than the original) an important thing to remember once you embrace GMail is to keep embracing! Keep embracing! I’m not entirely sure if that slogan really makes sense, but it’s Valentines Day so embrace away, I say!
(and no, I didn’t entirely mean for that last sentence to rhyme but I think I’m gonna stick with it).
